Title: Integrated Safety Planning for Suicide and Overdose
Description:
Participants will learn to recognize both the unique and shared risk factors for overdose and suicide as well as how to apply targeted safety planning based on the severity of the risk. The training emphasizes an integrated approach, helping attendees to develop safety plans that concurrently address substance use risks, suicide ideation, and social factors (such as housing instability or domestic stress) that can elevate risk levels.

Speakers:

Dr. Virna Little, PsyD, LCSW-R, SAP, CCM, MBA, is a distinguished leader in behavioral health. She is the Co-Founder of Concert Health, a behavioral health medical group that provides Collaborative Care to healthcare organizations across 21 states and has served over 150,000 patients. Dr. Little is the Co-Founder and CEO of Zero Overdose, a national non-profit seeking to eliminate unintentional overdose events and deaths through overdose safety planning. Dr. Little is also the leader of SPiER, an international effort to improve suicide care and reduce suicide events and deaths through optimizing technology, such as electronic health records and health information exchanges.

CE: 1 social work hour. Proof of attendance for CE will be distributed via email within one week after the event.
