The South Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers is pleased to announce the preliminary slate of candidates for the 2026-2027 NASW-SC Election of the Board of Directors.

Voting by the NASW-SC membership opens June 22, 2026. From June 22, 2026 until July 12, 2026, NASW-SC members can vote for candidates running for the following positions.

Board Positions
The NASW-SC Board of Directors is comprised of members who are elected by the Chapter membership. Board members discuss association policy and programming and set chapter policies concerning social work practice issues.

Voting will be open to NASW-SC members from June 22, 2026 until July 12, 2026.
You MUST be a NASW-SC member to vote. You may only vote ONCE.

NASW-SC Statement on Roe v. Wade - Today is a sad day for our country and state with the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. What was a fundamental right for almost 50 years is now gone. What was legal yesterday is now illegal. This ruling has taken away a person's right to choose. A person's right to choose reproductive health that is best for them, their body, their health, and their family. With this ruling it is one more step in the wrong direction. This ruling now leaves it up to each state to choose their own course of action related to abortion. What does this mean for SC? Our current Governor McMaster has already expressed a desire to promote more aggressive anti-abortion bills for SC. This means he can call the Legislators back at any time this year to vote on a more aggressive anti-abortion bill. This is unacceptable!!! As social workers, NOW is the time to let your voices be heard. Please contact your state and federal legislators and tell them WE STAND FOR REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS!!
